The fields of Psycholinguistics, the Cognitive Neurosciences, and Cognitive Psychology mourn the loss of one of its eminent scholars, David Swinney. Many of the intellectual battles that Dave helped originate and fought more than 30 years ago still remain relevant. Dave, far too humbly and with typical humor, suggested that this says more about the field than about anything else. We think he was just ahead of his time. David A.
